Two Fun iPad Apps to Help Children Learn the Alphabet

September 17, 2013 by admin

Screen Shot 2013-09-17 at 5.19.13 PM Two nice alphabet apps became free today. The first is Alphabetical Order from ABCya. Alphabetical Order offers three activities to students. They can arrange letter blocks into their proper order, they can match upper and lower case letters, and they can match sounds to letters.

The second alphabet app that I tried today is Stumpy’s Alphabet Dinner. In this app students feed letters and shapes to cartoon characters. The letters and shapes that students feed to the characters have to match the letter or shape displayed on the character’s stomach. If the child makes an incorrect match the character spits out the letter.
