Adobe Voice Now Offers Theme Customizations

November 4, 2014 by admin

Back in May Adobe launched a free iPad app called Adobe Voice. Adobe Voice allows you to record your voice, import pictures, and write text to create a short video. The latest update to the app allows you to customize the background colors in your story’s theme. In addition to background colors you can also customize font colors and the colors of stock icons in the app.

To create a story with Adobe Voice you start by select a story template (you can change templates at any time). After choosing a template you construct your story by recording your narration for a frame then adding an image or text to the frame. You can import your own image, take a picture, or select one of the stock images provided by Adobe Voice. To find a stock image or icon you simply enter a search word and then select from the search results. In that regard it is similar to Haiku Deck’s image search tool. If you decide to add text to a frame, the text will automatically resize as you type. Music is automatically added to the background of your narrated Adobe Voice story. You can change the music by tapping the edit option and selecting a different track.

Create Halloween Movies With Magisto for iPad

October 28, 2014 by admin

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 2.36.30 PM Earlier today I published a post on FreeTech4Teachers.com in which I mentioned using Magisto to create videos online. This afternoon I tested out the Magisto iPad app.

The Magisto iPad app works in a manner that is very similar to the web app. To create a movie with the Magisto iPad app you simply select videos and images that are on your iPad’s camera roll, select some music (Magisto has a large selection of royalty-free music) to serve as your video’s soundtrack, and choose a theme for your movie. Magisto is currently offering a Halloween theme that you can apply to your movie. Magisto handles all of the mixing of your media to generate a movie for you. See the app in action in the video embedded below.

You can test the Magisto iPad app without creating an account. To access all of the app’s features you will have to create an account.

Vizzywig – A Robust Video Editor for Your iPad (free for a limited time)

September 25, 2014 by admin

Screen Shot 2014-09-25 at 11.10.48 AMVizzywig is a robust video editing app for your iPad. The app does all of the things that you would expect a video editing tool to do and more. Like iMovie does Vizzywig allows you to import images, video clips, and sounds to produce your video. You can easily add title screens and final credits to your video by just filling out the forms provided in the app. What Vizzywig offers that you won’t find in iMovie is the option to remotely record from up to 16 other iOS devices connected on the same wi-fi network.

Remote recording through Vizzywig allows you to capture and combine video clips from up to sixteen remotely connected devices. That feature could be great for capturing video footage of a school play, graduation ceremony, or sporting event.

Vizzywig’s basic user interface is rather intuitive. Some of the advanced features could take a bit of trial and error to master, but the basics are easy to understand. I created a short video in a matter of a couple of minutes the first time that I used the app. Vizzywig doesn’t require you to create an account in order to use the app. You will need to create an account to export your finished video to YouTube, Dropbox, or Vimeo. You can also simply save your video to your iPad.

Screen Shot 2014-09-25 at 4.20.27 PM

Vizzywig is normally $29.99, but it is free today (September 25). Thanks to Apps Gone Free for that tip.

30hands Introduces a Pro Version

July 22, 2014 by admin

30hands is a popular iPad app that makes it very easy to create a narrated slideshow. Recently, 30hands introduced 30hands Pro. The pro version allows for integration of Google Drive and Dropbox for storing and sharing projects. The pro version also offers the option to insert video clips into your slides. Final projects in 30hands Pro are available in high resolution.

A free version of 30hands is still available. To create a basic narrated slideshow on 30hands all you need to do is import images from your iPad’s camera roll then press the record button below each image to record your narration. If you don’t have any pictures on your iPad you can take pictures using the 30hands app. 30hands also allows you to draw images instead of importing pictures. You can combine imported pictures with drawn images in your presentations. And you can draw on top of imported images. When your project is complete you can save it on your iPad or share it with the 30hands community.
