Shoot, Edit, and Share Videos With the Loopster iPad App

May 30, 2013 by admin

loopsterLoopster is a video editing tool that I first tried as a web app last fall. Recently, I learned that Loopster has a free iPad app. The free iPad app offers all of the same features that are available in the web version of the service. The Loopster iPad app provides a four track editor. There are tracks for video and images, transitions, sounds, and text. You can import images and videos from your iPad’s camera roll or shoot a new video with the app and edit it. On the video editing track you can trim clips and combine clips. On the text track you can add speech bubbles and other text effects. Loopster has a slow motion effect that is available on the iPad app too.

When your Loopster project is completed you can share it to YouTube, Facebook, or email it. Your completed Loopster projects can also be saved to the camera roll on your iPad.

To use the free Loopster iPad app you do not need to create a Loopster account.

OSnap! Grab This iPad App While It’s Free

May 3, 2013 by admin

OSnap is an iPad app that I reviewed a couple of months ago. The app is available in a “lite” version and in a “pro” version. The pro version is currently available for free. It’s an excellent app for creating time-lapse and stop-motion videos.

The app is quite easy to use. To create a video with the OSnap app you simply need to start a project and take a series of still pictures using your iPad’s camera. Then adjust the number of frame per second to edit your video. If you want to, you can add a sound track to your video by selecting audio files that are stored on your iPad. You can go back and edit your videos by removing images and from the project at any time. Completed projects can be stored on your iPad, uploaded to YouTube, or shared via email.

FunSlides HD – Create HD Video Slideshows On Your iPad

March 18, 2013 by admin

Screen Shot 2013-03-18 at 9.45.10 PM FunSlides HD is a nice iPad app ($0.99 USD) for taking your pictures and putting them into a video slideshow. You can import pictures from your iPad’s camera roll or take new pictures with the FunSlides HD app. After adding pictures to your project you can add text to each one of them. Once your images are arranged in order and your text has been added, insert the transitions you would like between images. Finally, before publishing your project add a sound track. Your sound track can be one of the stock tracks in FunSlides HD or it can be a file that you import from your iPad. Completed projects can be saved to your iPad, uploaded to YouTube, or shared on Facebook.

FunSlides HD will probably remind some users of Animoto. The key difference between the two is that FunSlides HD allows you to add as much text as you like to each image. Like Animoto, FunSlides HD is nice app that students can use to quickly create short videos about a field trip, a topic they’ve researched, or to tell a story.
