July 25, 2013 by admin

Screen Shot 2013-07-25 at 10.04.15 PM Todoist is an easy-to-use task management service that I first tried on the web a couple of years ago. When I tried it then I was impressed by its clean design and intuitive user interface. Todoist is also available to use as an iPad app (Android and Windows apps are available too). The free iPad app seamlessly syncs with your Todoist online account.

When you create projects and assignments in Todoist by default they are arranged chronologically. You can reordering them by simply selecting an moving them up or down. The free version of Todoist provides twelve color coded labels that you can apply to tasks and projects.

On your iPhone or iPad you can use Hello Sign by selecting a document or by taking a picture of a document. I have demonstrated the app to many people over the last year and everyone has been impressed by how easy it is to use. I just open the app, log into my Hello Sign account, and snap a picture of a document. After the picture was captured I have the option to apply a stored signature or sign the document using my finger on my iPad screen.

CK-12 Study Now! – An Independent Study App for Students

July 12, 2013 by admin

ck12_study CK-12 Study Now! is a free iPad app from the Ck-12 Foundation. The free iPad app puts CK-12 Flexbooks (multimedia books) on students’ iPads. Students can browse the app by subject and topic. Each Flexbook has to be downloaded individually to students’ iPads.

In some cases CK-12 Flexbooks can be a good alternative to buying textbooks. In other cases they make good supplementary material for your lessons. Either way, CK-12 Study Now! can help you and your students find helpful reference material.

As others have reported, I found the app to be crash-prone. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.
