Try Book Creator for iPad for Free – Enter to Win the Full Version for Free

April 30, 2014 by admin

Screen Shot 2013-08-15 at 8.37.01 PM Book Creator for iPad is my favorite iPad app for creating narrated multimedia books on my iPad. So when the developers approached me with ten promo codes to give away, I said yes. Details on how to get a promo code are at the bottom of this post.

Book Creator allows anyone to create their own books using images, text, videos, and audio recordings. You can arrange your book in three different formats; portrait, square, or landscape. Each page in your book can include pictures and videos from your iPad’s camera roll and or from your iTunes library. In addition to the pictures and videos you can include as much as text as you can fit on each page. In fact, if you just want to have text on a page you can do that. If you would like to narrate your book you can tap the record button to add your voice to each page of your book. Every page in your book can have a custom color scheme.

Book Creator allows you to export your books to ePub 3.0 format. The exported file can be opened an read in the Chrome web browser using the free Readium browser extension. This is a great option as it allows a parent who doesn’t have an iPad at home to view his or her child’s work at home.

Book Creator costs $4.99 (less with volume purchasing), but you can now try it and create one entire book for free. If you’re trying to decide if Book Creator is worth purchasing, try the free version first.

To enter to win a promo code to get the full version of Book Creator for free, leave a comment on this post. In your comment include a brief mention of how you might use the app. Leave a comment by Saturday at midnight Eastern Time. Ten comments will be randomly chosen to win. (Comments may not appear immediately due to moderation. You do have to comment through Disqus to enter).

Book Creator for iPad Now Supports Handwriting

October 31, 2013 by admin

book_creator The very popular iPad app Book Creator recently received a couple of updates of note. The first update was a new look for iOS 7 users. iOS 6 users will be happy to see that even though the app has been updated, it will still work the same way on their devices. The more important update to Book Creator is the addition of support for handwriting and free-hand drawing in your books.

Book Creator allows anyone to create their own books using images, text, videos, free-hand drawings, handwriting, and audio recordings.

Book Creator costs $4.99 (less with volume purchasing), but you can try it and create one entire book for free. Click here to try the free version.

With Book Creator 2.5 Released With a Fantastic New Sharing Option

March 25, 2013 by admin

Book Creator is currently my favorite iPad app for creating multimedia books on your iPad. The app costs $4.99 (less with volume purchasing), but it is well worth it. The latest updates to Book Creator allows you to export your books to ePub 3.0 format. The exported file can be opened an read in the Chrome web browser using the free Readium browser extension. This is a great option as it allows a parent who doesn’t have an iPad at home to view his or her child’s work at home.

Another feature added to Book Creator 2.5 is the option to take pictures and videos from within the app. Version 2.5 introduced new page format options including a full screen format.

These new features in Book Creator require iOS 6.

Book Creator 2.4 for iPad Allows You To Combine Books

January 17, 2013 by admin

book_creator Earlier this month I wrote a glowing review of the Book Creator iPad app. Book Creator allows you to create narrated books on your iPad. Today, Book Creator 2.4 was released with some nice new tools.

The latest version of Book Creator allows you to combine books that you have created using the app. In fact, you can even combine books from multiple iPads. What this means is that you could have students work on the creation of a book together from separate iPads. Have each student work on a chapter then combine all of the chapters into one book. Click here for complete directions on combining books.

With the latest update to Book Creator you can now include hyperlinks in your books, style individual words in your books, and import books. But to me the most exciting option is the option to combine books. To use the latest updates you will need to be using iOS 6.

If you haven’t seen Book Creator before, watch the short video below for an introduction to it.
