Animation Express is a free iPad app for creating simple animated drawings. When you open the app you will see a sample animation that provides a sense of what you can do with the app. After watching the sample animation tap “+” in the upper-right corner of the screen to start creating your own animation. Draw each frame of your animation using your finger or a stylus. After creating the frames you can add a sound track and or a background image. You can also change the colors of the digital ink that you use. Animation express allows you to specify how many frames per second appear in your animation. Your finished product can be exported to YouTube or saved on your iPad.
Animation Express allows you to have three projects at a time. After that you will have to either upgrade to the paid version or delete a project.
Animation Express could be a good little tool for students who would like to use animation to tell a story.
